If stopping is absolutely necessary, pull drivelevers into the neutral position and push tothe outside of the unit and engage the parkingbrake. OPERATIONMowing Tips. Observe and flag rocks and other fixed objectsto avoid collisions.

Begin with a high cutting height and reduce ituntil the desired mowing result is attained.The average lawn should be cut to 2½'(64 mm) during the cool season and over 3'(76 mm) during the hot months. For healthierand better looking lawns, mow often aftermoderate growth.For best cutting performance, grass over 6'(15 cm) in height should be mowed twice. OPERATIONStopping the EngineAllow the engine to idle a minute in order to attainnormal operating temperature before stopping it, ifit has been worked hard. Avoid idling the engine forlonger periods, as there is a risk of the spark plugsfouling.1.

If acable binds, it can disrupt operation.If a cable binds, remove the cable and hang it vertically. Lubricate it with light engine oil until the oil begins toescape from the bottom. LUBRICATIONEngine OilChanging the Engine OilChange oil after every 100 hours of operation (morefrequently under severe conditions).

Refill with serviceclass SG, SH, SJ or higher oil as specified in theViscosity Grades table.Change the oil while the engine is still warm. To keep dirt, debris, etc., out of the engine,clean the area around the dipstick beforeremoving it.3. Unthread and remove the dipstick; wipe oil off.Reinsert the dipstick into the tube and rest thecap on the tube. LUBRICATIONOil RecommendationsUsing the proper type and weight of oil in thecrankcase is extremely important. So is checking oildaily and changing oil regularly.

Click to expand.I have a Husqvarna WHT4817 it is 48 Inch WB. It is a good mower other than it goes slower than i like. Also i have to drop the Hydros to change one of the belts. MY my dealer is. Well i won't go there. Even if you email Husqvarna support they won't tell you anything and they admit it on the first email you get back.

You buy the mower and find out later that it's a lemon, turn around and 'town crier' guys about how bad the mower is. My way works best and much more efficient. Husky sellers, if you know 'em personally like I do, will tell you to buy Scag or Hustler or Examark or JD, maybe Dixie and stay away from the orange paint. Don't shoot the messenger, I like to take my advice on cars and mowers from experts in the field, the service guys in the back who know EXACTLY what they're talking about. And when a dealer tells me that you want to stay away from a certain brand becasue A, B, C and D.I stay away. I'll tell ya this for sure.NOBODY that holds a Kansas City municipal mowing contract mows with Husqvarna. I know them all and know their fleet.
